There is a little boy in Robbins and Landry's school named Aiden, he is in room 8 and below is an email sent out from Mrs. Lynn at their amazing school. This is just one of the reasons I love this place. If you are local and think you could help or can just lift this family up in prayer I know anything and everything is appreciated. I plan to get swabbed to see if there is any chance I am a match and I have done this before and she is not kidding when she says it is really simple. So take 5 minutes-1 to read the email and 4 to pray for Aiden. Thanks~!
Welcome to our new school year! Lots of new faces and we are so happy to have new friends!
We are missing one friend this year. Aiden McIntosh who was to be in Room 8 this year can not be with us. Aiden was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia about a month ago. He has had a long hospital stay and is now back home until the next phase of treatment. This is a curable leukemia, but Aiden will need our help to make that happen. Aiden had a bone marrow biopsy that identified the genetics of his leukemia...Hypodiploid, which means Aiden must have a bone marrow transplant. And he needs our help to find a donor. Jennifer's (Aiden's mom) office is holding a drive to find donors on Aug. 20. We are going to follow that with one from our community and we will be letting you know those details as we get them. In the meantime, most important of all, please pray for our guy. There is a website: https://lls.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/660166/login/reset/dd06d6fe6f3adf5b8d115d6836d57a7b/
where you can see Aiden's story and updates of his progress and offer help as needed. We are going to set up Skype with Aiden so that he can still be at circle time and spend times with his friends. A fund is being established to help with bills and that information will be on the site as well. Most of all, we ask that you tell his story and get as many people as you can find to agree to test for possible doner match. The first step is as simple as a swab of the mouth. If a person has 4 - 6 points of match, then a blood test will determine if that person might be a 10 point match which would be the saving grace that Aiden needs. The process of bone marrow donation is much easier and as simple as donating blood--so forget any horror stories you might have heard in the past. If you ever wonder how you might "give back" for the good health and blessings in your family, this may be your chance. But, prayers, prayers, prayers....Please login and send Aiden a message. Sorry I can't make a link and it is a long address to type, but we really appreciate anything you can do to help Aiden with his long battle.
THANKS in advance!!, Lynn
