Someone tell me when he got so big! I think he looks like a man here!

This is Sunnyside neighborhood in brentwood. A man does this every year for his son that passed away and all the neighbors let him decorate their yards as well. it was pretty awesome.

Everyone wears costumes while they open presents correct?

Love

So sweet
He's the king of stealing every one's job of opening!

So proud of his milk and cookies

He camped out with Pops and Uncle Reno on Christmas Eve.

He came! Such a happy boy!
Santa delivered and we gave them each 4 presents- a want, a need, a wear, and a read. I stole the idea from someone else but liked it so much. With grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins they already get so much, so this works well for us to keep it a tiny bit not crazy.

Apparently, someone did not get what they wanted for Christmas. J/K but if looks could kill, ouch!

This is about right:)
With his loot (the IPad is not his, but he had to watch Jake immediately after receiving the ship)

Happy New Year! I was in bed by 10pm on NYE, so I decided a NYD mimosa was a must.

What a wonderful and growing year 2012 was and 2013 is bound to be just as much of an adventure!

It's Official

For some reason my blog is being mean and not letting me post pics from my computer but I had to get this one in the record book!

After a few final pics today out house will be on the market. I ask for prayer for this entire process, pray for Gods will and our desires to align for this place to sell and for us to find a new house. A house, because that's all it really is right? Pray that I don't get caught up in all the hoopla of house buying and realize this is 100% about my kids education and not my material desires. Pray for peace in a situation that would normally make me anxious as all get out and lastly pray that if this is where we are supposed to stay we will experience true contentment. Thanks for the prayers and encouragement! Hopefully I can post Christmas soon, if anyone has any tips on why my upload from computer option using working, I'd love to hear it!

Outgrow Me

A blog I follow is a fellow Auburn girl with an incredible gift for the written word. I really enjoy reading her posts, which isn't updated on a regular basis, so when she writes, her words are powerful, lovely and hit the nail right on the head. You can find her at The Storywood. She wrote this poem about her son and it just resonated with me so much, because it is exactly the combination of love and fear that I have for Robbins. She says it best in her writing that one day they outgrow us, how wonderful and sad at the same time.
So Robbins, when you read this some day, know what a privilege it is for me to be your mom.

Every single great man,

Was once a mother’s baby boy.
All that strength she held within her arms,
Would soon stand firmly on the floor.

She watched his fingers fumble,
To grasp the toy and hold tight.
Now she watches with pride and wonder,
His pen weaving wrong to right.

He drew his breath and squealed,
For the delight of a single ball.
And she holds her breath with fear,
As he sprouts wings above them all.

Two steps up he’d crawl,
Then rest, smile back for her.
No backwards glance now needed,
As he summits round every turn.

She counted piggies in the market,
And played peek-a-boo with his soles.
Now those feet march towards justice,
And she knows not where they go.

Her kisses, how they melted!
On his head and soft, pink cheeks.
But the need and count grow fewer,
As his face forms lines and peaks.

She was thankful for the baby boy,
God entrusted to her care.
And found it a privilege to love him,
To hold his hand and drive out fear.

But all the while she knew it coming,
Her great triumph and pending doom.
That this child would outgrow her,
And become a man too soon.
