We headed to Lexington this past weekend for a great time with family and friends. Lee and Ryan were in town from Charleston and we got to spend some time with J.Ed's grandfather. It was a beautiful weekend. A little chilly out a Keeneland, but overall so much fun.
After our traditional dinner out at Suggins, we went out for a celebratory drink. Lee & Ryan announced their exciting news of baby Weatherly!! And we were pretty pumped about the apprehension of the second bomber of the Boston Marathon. I'm not kidding, we were pretty excited he got caught!
The boys and the proud papa to be
Love that Keeneland had the Irish flag flying at half mast along with the Kentucky and American flags.
me and the hubs, looking ever so dapper.
One lucky little boy! One of the race guys called him over to the track and gave him a horse shoe that came off of one of the horses. We thought it meant we would have good luck all day with our bets, not so much.
The Budweiser Clydesdale's, R was so excited. The Dalmatian was on there too and was so stinking cute.
Posing:)
Very intense race watching
Loved getting to spend some QT with Brooke and Sam
Showing off the horse shoe
After the races we headed out to Danville to Matt and Audrey's. Lee and Ryan were spending the night there and it gave the kids a chance to play. I love seeing the kiddos together, getting along for the most part. Audrey and I were saying how mice it would be to arrange their marriages so we could make our lives a little easier!
Robbins was cracking me up. He would go back and forth between Annie Capers and Lillah. One minute he'd be like I want o play with her and not want to play with the other and then switch. I was like seriously bud? You can't pull the sister switch, especially right in front of them!
Landry enjoyed just chasing them around and giving Townsend the occasional hug.
Sunday, we headed to Paris and got to go see Gramps at the nursing home. He was having a good day and I think a visit from the kids was a great pick me up!
It was a big weekend down south on the plains as well. I am so proud of my Alma mater and the 80,000+ strong that showed up for A-Day and the final rolling of Toomer' Corner. Auburn had the largest spring game attendance in the nation and considering our record last year says alot about the respect our fans have for the tradition of this program and the trees that are in their final days. I read something last night that literally made me cry but is so true.
"More than a place on a map. More than an intersection in a small town or a corner in a community. More than a tree. It's the embodiment of the Auburn spirit. A place where family and friends gather to celebrate all that is good about tradition, success, and Auburn. Many memories have been made under the Auburn oaks-memories that are forever ingrained in the minds of the Auburn Family."
